Fake immigration agents deport woman

Just a wild guess, but considering the existing political climate, I’m thinking there will be more like this, sadly:

Gregory Raymond Denny Jr., 38, and his wife Karen Evon Denny, 52, allegedly tricked an undocumented immigrant into taking a plane to her native Philippines, the Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.

They handcuffed her at her own home and convinced her that they worked for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) and were enforcing a warrant.

Welcome to America.

UPDATE: Here’s the link to the FBI press release. (H/t: JamieHarbor)

The only people who actually have a right to deny citizenship to anyone in America, are Native Americans and we've made sure that they will never be in a position to wield that authority again. We tried to do the same with African-Americans but those pesky Democrats went ahead and gave them too many rights and made them question their true place in society. It's not enough that we are passing draconian laws to keep the brown hoards from overtaking the Southwest, we need stupid vigilantes out there undermining everything they are having the government do. Either you want the government to “do something” or you just want to hunt and harrass imigrants in which case the troops at the boarder should be sent home so we can save some money. The right contantly yells about obeying the laws of this country. Isn't that the line we hear when they discuss deporting people? They can't obey the law so we don't want them. Well guess what jackasses, the same goes for you. If you can't obey the laws of this county perhaps you'll be happier elsewhere. I know several people who would be happier if you were elsewhere.

Elsewhere, it indicated that the Dennys attempted to hand the woman off to actual Border Patrol officials, only to be rebuffed. He presented a fake badge and credentials to both the BP and TSA (at the airport).

As it's a federal crime, the case should be handled by the FBI/US Attorney's office. Don;t goret to thank AZ republicans and GOP for fulminating and fomenting racial and immigration animus as election season wedge issue.

frustrating that there's no follow-up to the story…are they just gonna get away with saying its a “prank”?

Impersonating law enforcement officers is a far more serious crime than illegal immigration.

Handcuffing someone and detaining them against their will without authority, as this couple did, is, I believe, a felony.

If there's such a thing as justice, they'll soon lose some of their own citizenship rights . . .
