Here’s an idea: Ban all drilling. We can’t afford any more of these, ever again, ever.

Ever:

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana — The US Coast Guard dispatched emergency teams Tuesday after a boat crashed into an oil well off the coast of New Orleans, reportedly sending crude spewing some 20 feet into the air.

The wellhead, located about 65 miles (104 kilometers) south of New Orleans, was ruptured when it was struck by a dredge barge being pulled by a tug.

This lovely little non-BP mishap occurred near the increasingly gargantuan area known as BP’s Oil Volcano in the now goo-and-Corexit-saturated Gulf of Mexico.  The piece goes on to say that clean-up vessels might have to be redeployed if the reports are confirmed.

And so it goes… and goes…
