For the first time in over a month, Sharron “Obtuse” Angle decided to clue the press in to what she’s been up to… because, see, she’s a woman of the people! And who better to inform the people than the press?
And who better to duck the press than Obtuse Angle?
After more than a month dodging the press, Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle on Wednesday invited reporters to an event intended to amplify her campaign message that lower taxes and less regulation are the only ways to spur economic recovery.
It was the first time since her primary victory that she had agreed to mingle with the media. [...]
Alas, Angle’s more media-friendly moment was over almost as soon as it began.
Probably because she had nothing to say.
Probably because she knew that if she did say anything, it would be, you know, recorded somehow and released.
Probably because she knows that if what she said were to be revealed, she’d lose.
However, it has been some time since she ran off at the mouth. I’m sure she had something pithy to offer after having been away for so long. Something of worth. Something constructive before offering a gracious thank you and making an eloquent, telegenic exit:
…Angle delivered a three-minute speech on her desire to permanently repeal the estate tax. When invited by the final speaker to stay and answer a few questions, she turned on her heel and rushed out a back door with a small cadre of staff members.
Okay, let’s not be hasty. Clearly, she didn’t realize the reporters wanted more. Only a fool would ignore the media, yet again, knowing how idiotic and cowardly she’d look:
Reporters, including one who is six months pregnant, chased after her, calling out questions on unemployment benefits and other topics she has largely refused to address.
…Or she could continue to make an ass of herself.
