For anyone who had mad hopes that the Citizens United ruling wouldn’t be that big a deal think again. Republican corporate donors are getting ready to bury the Democrats under an avalanche of money in the upcoming 2010 elections: …more than $200 million in election-focused spending — roughly $37 million more than every single independent group spent on the 2008 presidential campaign combined.

One top-ranking Democratic operative involved in crafting campaign strategy said he “wouldn’t be surprised” if outside groups on the Republican side “outspend us four-to-one.” Another top official at a campaign committee called it “one hell of a wake-up call to the left.” Let’s hope so!

That's a valid question Joe LoRe. That Citizens United ruling absolutely lets money come from all corps – can't say as to the percentage but I'm sure they're looking at spending as much as is necessary -

I wonder how many of those dollars come from foreign sources & from profits made from Bush/Cheney no bid contracts or their war profiteering friends? Because you know all this money didn't come just from members of these groups who chipped in 5 and 10's… I have no proof, but I am guessing here that at least 30% of this is tainted blood money that came to these organizations by member companies that made huge loot ripping off Americans or left over tax subsidies. Maybe I am just blinded by anger? I dunno.
