AUDIO- Bill Press: Glenn Beck doesn't have a permit for MLK Day rally, exploiting military charity

Bill Press tweeted the link to this audio today:

Yes, you heard right. Beck doesn't even have a permit for The Big Rally yet. They've applied, but they're still in negotiations. Yet, they're selling merchandise as if it's a done deal. He's selling stuff for an event that may never take place.

It's also not being held at the Lincoln Memorial, but at the reflecting pool, across the street. Glenn Beck is lying about the location of the rally.

And finally, he's exploiting a charity by soliciting contributions to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. But see, the fine print says all contributions will first be applied to the rally, the one with Sarah Palin. All contributions in excess of the costs will go to the troops.

Let's recap:
--He's desecrating the memory of Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln;
--He's lying to the (gullible) American people who still choose to give him an ounce of credibility, and
--He's using a charity set up to raise money for members of the military, and then stealing the money he raises to pay for his little get together.

What a patriot.

Using a charity to set up and raise money for members of the military is a big no no for me. Charities are made to help the ones who are in need and not for setting up a military.

So, how did you like the outcome, A**H***?

The Fox News personality’s promotion of the foundation’s rally sponsorship has drawn some $5-million in donations for the group, which has never before raised more than $1-million from an event.

I have a problem with the fact that beck is using quid pro quo charity to special operations benevolent organizations in order to legitimize his eliminationist rhetoric. the Special operations warrior foundation official statment is it is a non-profit organization : from their website:
"we are non-political and appreciate the support from everyone who wants to assist us with our noble cause. As Americans we all have the right to our own personal viewpoints. We respect those rights and the viewpoints of our supporters do not necessarily reflect the viewpoints of the Foundation."

Beck is a rabble rouser, and the silent Majority in the military are smart enough to know it.

  • He *is* the his own mind...

o get over yourself, that's how charities pay for the event & the 'proceeds' go to one yourself sometime you self-absorbed idiot.

  • So this is definitely going to be a no press allowed affair with Sarah there?

2 people scamming America for money for the cause of dishonesty.

    Beck sucks

  • Glenn Beck has more in common with Jim Crow than Martin Luther King.

  • Palin will be at the rally? Two lunatics for the price of one. Yikes, that's a whole lot of nausea.

  • It's just your latest example of the self-dealing that goes on in right-wing politics. Anyone who gives any of these people a dime for anything they promote is a sucker.
