ACORN Totally Vindicated of All Wrongdoing

John Atlas over at AlterNet is reporting what many of us already knew. But now it's too late. ACORN has dismantled, the Republicans won another round of Smear and Kill, and democracy is missing a partner:

A preliminary probe by the U.S. GAO has found no evidence of mishandling the $40 million in federal money ACORN and affiliates received in recent years.

I repeat:

A preliminary probe by the U.S. GAO has found no evidence of mishandling the $40 million in federal money ACORN and affiliates received in recent years.

The GOP and ClusterFox have committed voter homicide, but they'll skate. Again.

The GAO, an independent, nonpartisan agency that works for Congress, is often called the "congressional watchdog." It investigates how the federal government spends taxpayer dollars. [...]

Fox News broadcasted the deceptive tapes nearly around the clock for several days defaming ACORN.

While Republicans in Congress, who for years had accused ACORN of corruption, used the phony tapes to lead an effort to successfully strip the group of federal funding in 2009. Months later the group was exonerated from any wrongdoing by every official and independent investigation.

No legal wrongdoing. None. Yet they were accused, tried, and convicted in the media, especially on ClusterFox. No matter how many posts we bloggers pumped out on their behalf, or who spoke up on the Tee Vee Machine, ACORN got the death sentence. Facts? Pfft!

This is the very definition of injustice.
