Geometry teacher uses wrong example to teach angles — assassination of President Barack Obama

It’s too early for this much stupid, I just don’t know what to say.



A Jefferson County teacher picked the wrong example when he used as­sassinating President Bar­ack Obama as a way to teach angles to his geome­try students.


Someone alerted autho­rities and the Corner High School math teacher was questioned by the Secret Service, but was not taken into custody or charged with any crime.



“We did not find a credible threat,” said Roy Sex­ton, special agent in charge of Birmingham’s Secret Service office. “As far as the Secret Service is concerned, we looked into it, we talked to the gentleman and we have closed our investigation.”

The teacher was appar­ently teaching his geometry students about parallel lines and angles, officials said. He used the example of where to stand and aim if shooting Obama.



“He was talking about angles and said, ‘If you’re in this building, you would need to take this angle to shoot the president,’ ” said Joseph Brown, a senior in the geometry class.



Efforts to reach the teacher for comment Mon­day were unsuccessful.

 Superintendent Phil Hammonds said the teacher remains at work, and there are no plans for termination.



”We are going to have a long conversation with him about what’s appropriate,” Hammonds said. “It was extremely poor judgment on his part, and a poor choice of words.”

     Basement is important for students. If basement is not strong then building is !  Teachers are the basement. I teachers are not strong in concept then Students ! We can’t imagine……….

    Also – the school board's number is 205-379-2000. The superintendent is Phil Hammond. They are meeting next week to discuss the teacher's status.

    Why are sociopaths always attempting to seduce innocent little children into committing criminal acts?
    Surely, there must be some law on the books to protect the young innocents from being purposely traumatized ever again by this, or any other bi-pedal beast.

    It's not just the idea of using the POTUS as an example of assination. It's the idea of using murder as a way to teach math or pretty much anything else.

    Fire the guy, he is teaching murder.

    Freedom of Speech is not the same as freedom to teach. You have a right to speak your mind. But, to teach is to instruct. A public or private school Teacher instructs student who are required by law to be there. What if this lecture were in a madrasa (orthodox Islamic) school? Conspiracy means to breathe together. Discussion of an assassination utilizing an angular attack on a real-time President is mapping an assassination. The actual intent is moot, but the drive is there. Using former President Kennedy for example is different.

    What happens to the notes taken by classmates demonstrating assassination by angular geometric crossfire? What was the actual conclusion of the US Secret Service?

    Just think what we'd be seeing if some teacher in New York City or California used the example of assassinating Bush to teach math. Fox 'News' would be apoplectic, and we'd know what kind of countertops the teacher had.

    Using the assassination of Obama? The media gives a big “yawn.”
