U.S. Military Weapons Inscribed With Secret 'Jesus' Bible Codes

Jesus saves! Love your fellow man! Then shoot 'em with Guns for Jesus:

Coded references to New Testament Bible passages about Jesus Christ are inscribed on high-powered rifle sights provided to the United States military by a Michigan company, an ABC News investigation has found.

The sights are used by U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and in the training of Iraqi and Afghan soldiers. The maker of the sights, Trijicon, has a $660 million multi-year contract to provide up to 800,000 sights to the Marine Corps, and additional contracts to provide sights to the U.S. Army.

U.S. military rules specifically prohibit the proselytizing of any religion in Iraq or Afghanistan and were drawn up in order to prevent criticism that the U.S. was embarked on a religious "Crusade" in its war against al Qaeda and Iraqi insurgents.

One of the citations on the gun sights, 2COR4:6, is an apparent reference to Second Corinthians 4:6 of the New Testament, which reads: "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."

There are more references cited here.

Whatever happened to separation of church and state? Remember that?

According to "Mikey" Weinstein of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, an advocacy group that seeks to preserve the separation of church and state in the military, this violates the Constitution.

Weinstein, an attorney and former Air Force officer, said many members of his group who currently serve in the military have complained about the markings on the sights. He also claims they've told him that commanders have referred to weapons with the sights as "spiritually transformed firearm[s] of Jesus Christ."

He said coded biblical inscriptions play into the hands of "those who are calling this a Crusade."

That should go over well.

Since I was around 5 years old I’ve had an entity running a continuum where they would yell at me from cars at a distance and ululate that they hated Swedes and would shout out these Religious Quotes on how I was their tabernacle sacrifice , when they said something it was the tongue , how every quantum they created meant something , how history never changed and etc….. Are you sure are entire Black Operational Government isn’t based on some kind of religious extremism. Maybe English Socialism ? Bin Laden might be coming in a close second in the area of religious radicalism.

To address some of your anti-factual points: We are a *pluralistic* nation where people of all faiths are welcome. Jihadism isn't a hallmark of the Islamic resistance in Iraq: They're resisting an invasion & occupation of their nation. The phrase "Great Satan" is used by Iranian extremists and, to lesser extent, al-Qaeda; Neither of these groups had a significant presence in Iraq until after our invasion. When you say "THIS IS A WAR OF DARK AGAINST LIGHT," you echo almost exactly the position taken by Osama bin Laden; Whose side are you on, exactly?

First; there is NOWHERE but the ignorant mind where this mythical "Separation of Church and State" exists. The Constitution says that the State may not form an official Church. That is all. So all oh so enlightened and over-educated folk hop up up and down and grunt Religion! Bad!
I have a verse for those folks. Proverbs 1:26

    Get over yourselves.

Gott Mit Uns (God with us) was on the belt buckle of every German soldier during WWII. I'm sure God is as proud of them as he is these idiots in today's US military.

  • sooze

Can't complain here. We have the best sharpshooters in the world, no?

  • Mr. Dak

The point that others do not get is, how can it be anything BUT proselytizing? It is a Christian inscription on a weapon being used in combat against Muslims. Do you think they are idiots? They can tap into our UAV video feeds. I bet they can read, also.
I want to verify this story before getting too worked up about it, but, the defense that "they can't understand what it means, anyway, since they're unbelievers" is nonsense. It's no different than churches claiming their missionary work is only to help, not to convert. To promote your beliefs as if they were the only truth is the worst vanity.
All of this being said, I find it extremely difficult to believe (as a veteran army officer) that our military would allow this.

  • Genez

The point that some are not getting yet? How can_ 009876JN3:18 be proselytizing?

The only ones who could know what that means are those who already know the Bible. You think a Muslim who sees that is going to pull out his King James and know to look it up??? The only one proselytizing, is, ironically,ABC News! They are the ones quoting the passages containing the thought. Those letters and numbers will mean NOTHING to anyone who does not believe the Bible. Those who do? Need no proselytizing. Its not proselytizing. For it has no message for the unbeliever.

  • 42bkdodgr

I find it hard to believe that some high ranking officers didn't see the inscription. The Govt should sever relationships with the manufacture as soon as possible.
Promoting one's religions belief on US arms makes this manufacture no different from the Taliban.

  • Lucy

The soldiers don't care what is inscribed on the weapons as long as they get the job done. Most of them will not see it, or discern what it is anyway.

  • nffcnnr

Why not inscribe "Allah" on the soles of government issue combat boots while we're at it, right? Sheesh.

  • John

    God bless.

  • Stacy

You know, it's like the U.S. can't help itself, never mind that it undermines our military's attempts to win "hearts and minds" in these conflict zones. This whole private contracting thing has become a boon for the nutters and frauds and you have to wonder if the DoD knows about it and doesn't care or they just have no idea what the f*ck they are doing. I don't know which is worse.
